Welcome to Rapunzel’s HairBraiding and The HairBraiders

The place to find tips and tricks about hairbraiding, its art, and history.

Rapunzel’s has been creating beautiful unique hair styles for the past 25 years.

Over those years, I have shared my knowledge with thousands of people with tricks and tips for their own hair and I have taught hundreds of special people who have become a part of our team, The Hairbraiders.

Now, I am here to share with you everything I know about the art of hairbraiding!

A walkthrough on how to maintain and care for your braid.

I hear everyday about how people struggle to make their hair do what they want it to do.

They try new cuts, new products, new tricks, and still struggle. Braiding can be like that too, until you learn from a professional Master Hairbraider.

This website will help you care and maintain your hairbraid, and then will help you solve hair problems.

Hi! My name is Susangrace

I am the proud owner of Rapunzel’s Hairbraiding.

I would love to tell you that I was “born with the gift of hairbraiding,” but that is not true.

I did not grow up with someone braiding my hair everyday, but I was blessed to start Rapunzel’s Hairbraiding with my sister in 1997.

We learned with each other, and all of a sudden we had a shared language about “lacing a braid, skipping a stitch, and twisting a row” and new creations were made everyday.

This is actually one of the things I love about braiding 25 years later.

It is an evolving art.

EVERYDAY I braid I figure out a new idea or learn an idea from one of The Hairbraiders.

As a teacher (in my heart and in my trade), I have a gift of teaching people how to braid.

When someone doesn’t understand one technique I reframe it and we try again.

Braiding is like any skill. It can be taught and learned as long as you are willing to put in the work (practice).

And yes, some of the people I teach “have the gift”, but just as many (like me) started as a blank slate and learned a life changing skill set.
